Send- what veggies do you put in your lasagna?

Golden- Horseback riding and chinese food. Two of my favorite things. Hope you are enjoying your new adventure.

Chili Beans and cornbread, some club crackers and Smoked Gouda . Root Beer Floats.
For me black beans some crunchmaster crackers and the Gouda. Chocolate frozen yogurt,

This was my first time with the Gouda, I LOVE IT!!!! TOO MUCH!

CW- you reminded me of our dinners growing up and how our salad dressing was a mixture of miracle whip or mayo(whichever we had at the time)and ketchup. I had no clue until I was almost an adult that there were other salad dressings available in the world.
Mom would also make at times a wilted salad, with the bacon grease, Oh how I hated it, but they loved it.

Tonight I cooked the kind of meal I seldom make, like my mom fed us all the years I was growing up:
a simple salad (leaf lettuce with miracle whip dressing),
plain boiled potatoes (a big pot full so there are extra for potato salad or fried potatoes),
a veg (green beans from the garden)
and meat (pulled pork - mom would have done chops).
Of course mom would have had dessert too. Mmmm, maybe cherry or peach pie. (I wish)

Fresh tomato basil pasta with garlic cheese bread. My husband has a garden and his tomato plants are on double time. : ) I have an herb garden and there is nothing like fresh basil and oregano. It gives me a place to work off my frustrations.

I read a lot of recipes on line but still wasn't feeling it, so I just started winging it with stuff I had. When I tasted the sesame I thought "this would go well with beef", so I dug the steak out of my freezer. This time it turned out OK but honestly it could have gone either way😅

Yesterday bought some broccoli with really long fat stems so I cut the stems into matchsticks. Hm. I added in some celery, carrots and onion, then cut up some red peppers, mushrooms and snow peas. I stashed the whole lot in the fridge and went looking for inspiration.
Tonight I did a big stir fry with added ginger, garlic, sesame and soy sauce with slivers of strip loin - oh, and a little sriracha. Yum, with leftovers for another night.

BarbBrooklyn...One of the things I can not stand is Cilantro. People ask me if it tastes like soap but I don't get the "traditional" soap taste.

Tonight..A bit of left over salmon and some broccoli and rice.
Tomorrow..having a few people over, it would have been my Husbands birthday so having eggplant lasagna, home made bread, Key Lime pie (his favorite) and I made brownies for the non lovers of citrus pie.

DD is coming over, and as I have been told to ditch cards, and she is healthy eater,, I am making a zuchinni pizza casserole. Both Mom and Hubs are making "yech"faces.. LOL So we will see. Mom is living on grilled country ham sammies with cheese and garden tomatoes. so she will be happy either way. And my mom loves hot dogs too! "lips and *ssholes" as Dan Ackroyd says!

I cracked up when Betty White said her favorite thing to eat for lunch was a hot dog! She’s so cute. I just love her. She’s in her late 90’s now and still going strong.

Cheddar Chicken Broccoli with Pasta... saute 2.5 lbs of cubed chicken breast in 1/4 cup butter over a medium heat until cooked through (10-15 mins). Add 3 cups of water, 1 cup of milk, 2 pkgs Knorr chicken and broccoli pasta side, and a package of broccoli florets (fresh or frozen). Simmer for 10-15 mins until pasta is soft. Turn off heat and stir in 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese and black pepper as desired. Serve alone or topped with fresh diced tomatoes along side an ice cold glass of lemonade.
