I skipped to cantaloupe and finished all the chocolate instead. It was delicious going down but... I can't believe I ate the whole thing. Again. I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate.

Well, I just put a bunch of stuff together in one bowl and ate it. I got fresh lettuce and spinach from greenhouse, on top of some pinto.northern beans(refried), rice, corn, onions, and cheese, added some taco sauce. Ate it on the Blazing hot Doritos.
It was pretty good.
Animal crackers

Golden- I also have beets growing in greenhouse. My mom likes them pickled. Have you ever had them pickled?
Cwillie- did the maybe turn into for sure with the chocolate?

Leftover turkey perogy tetrazzini casserole... I guess you could call it a kind of fusion recipe (I wanted to use up stuff from my freezer). Cantaloupe for dessert.

Maybe chocolate later.

smeshque - I have eaten them like that, or cooked, but usually buy rutabagas. Can't remember if I have eaten the greens, but I know that beet greens are great, as are beets themselves.

lu - as madge said - sort of a pancake type batter, but cooked in a hot oven in muffin tins. Mother used to do it the old way which was to pour the batter around the roast, so it cooked in the drippings. That was when roasts had more fat on them. Crispy outside, soft inside... Mmmm good! You have to eat them as soon as they come out of the oven.

Sorry about your egg, Send

MsMadge,
You always seem to be eating really great food, and bringing Mom good things too!
Raisin bran is one of my favorite foods too!

My Sees Easter Egg, now gone after sharing it, was a disappointment in taste and for the price this year.
The chocolate easter bunnies lined up at Target, wrapped in foil might taste just as good, or be a gift for hoca residents. But would they eat the foil, do you think? They were small, and boxes of them.

Lu,
Yorkshire pudding is a hollow popover - quite a tricky thing to make right and keep warm

I's so jealous of everyone's meals - I'm eating Raisin Bran again 🙄

Golden-do you also like the turnip greens? I like turnips raw, not cooked. Eat it like an apple.

Dinner-Indian Taco(frybread, no meat, black beans, onions, olives, jalapenos, lettuce tomatoes, peperjack cheese, sour cream, louisiana hot sauce) It was so delicious!

Becky, those desserts would be tempting, but off limits for me also due to allergies. No fun!!!

Finally cooked that roast of beef I had in the freezer. - so tonight was roast beef, gravy yorkshire puddings, roasted onions and carrots, and brussel sprouts. Lots of beef still for left overs. Eons ago the kids used to head for the fridge the morning after a roast beef dinner, and eat the left over yorkshires cold with gravy. I have a feeling R is going to have warmed up Yorkshires and gravy at breakfast

This evening was one of those times I hate being a diabetic. One woman brought a German chocolate cake and our DIL brought a deep dish blueberry cobbler with homemade whipped cream. I was good though - I had a baked chicken breast and salad and a fruit cup.

Glazed ham with raisin sauce, pierogies with sauteed onion, bacon and sour cream, broccoli, R pronounced my ribs the other night as good as Montana's. I mixed a commercial BBQ sauce with some raspberry orange juice and it turned out well. Next time I will make an apple BBQ sauce.

smeshque - I like turnips!

Ali- I like Aldis also. They do have good veggies and a lot of healthy foods reasonably priced. I am glad we finally have one.
Right now I am blessed to have spinach, lettuce, radishes, turnips growing, so get them fresh. Don't really eat turnips, but chickens love the greens. I have yet to eat the greens, my dad use to love them.
Good eats!

Cakes and muffins sound delicious. I don't eat much of that kind of thing, which is probably why it sounds heavenly right now.

Aldi sells these spinach feta chicken sausages, 4 fat wieners to a package, and I made those and put with some sautéed spinach & arugula, mushrooms, garlic. I love Aldi. 💕 They sell the spinach & arugula pre-mixed, and some other variations of greens I like to buy from them. Makes it so easy to lightly sauté some as a side for any meal.

All of the grandsons home on Easter break. Big southern Sunday dinner. Fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried okra, tomato, cucumber and onion salad, pecan pie. Sad cooking day - I used my last 3 quarts of home canned green beans. I had 116 quarts at the end of last summer. No more good green beans until late July or August.
