I'm about to eat most of a big bag of tortilla chips with an entire container of fresh salsa... lol. I'm halfway through both the chips and salsa and decided I need MORE. The lamb still has 40 minutes to go and I'm starving.

Edit:  Ten minutes later and all the salsa is gone and most of the big bag of tortilla chips.  Nom nom.
Edit:  I moved on to red seedless grapes.  Twenty minutes until lamb is done but I'm hungry right neowww.  Munch munch munch munch...

Polar bear, roasted veggies sounds yum. I want to learn to do some oven roasted root veggie dishes, with parsnips, turnips, beets, squash, etc.

Had chicken livers at work today. Not a menu item, just something the Polish lady I work with brought in. I have thee nicest coworkers, such dolls. I don't remember last time I had chicken livers, or any liver. It was good enough but I'm not in a hurry to eat it again. I thought I could use the nutrition. Isn't it high in iron...?

There's a lamb shoulder chop in the oven right now. I seared it then put in baking dish, added onions-garlic-spinach-mushrooms, beef stock & Worcestershire. It's pretty much the same thing I'm making every week, with some variation on which veggies go in with it, which type of meat. I wonder if I'll ever get tired of it? So far I think it's delicious every single time and so I keep making it.

Cwillie, if you have an Aldis,, check out the corned beef there. We got a nice one for less than $10, and it was about 2 lb. We had one last year, it was tasty!

I was looking at the corned beef at the grocery store last week, unless they put it on special for St Patrick's day I won't be buying any, $15 for a little piece that couldn't have been much over 1 1/2 lbs is just too much for me.

I like cooked cabbage stir fried - boiled, not so much.

I made corned beef and cabbage for the first time ever yesterday. Eh. It was ok - not sure I'd go to the trouble again though. Mom used to make what was known as "boiled dinner" (not sure why, it's not boiled) - ham, cabbage, carrots and potatoes all cooked together in a big roaster pan in the oven. I like that a lot better than the corned beef I made.

Love a coleslaw with apples - and/or other fruit. Mother used to make it with pineapple to serve with ham. A Waldorf is awesome too. Wish you could get dried, unsweetened cranberries. I think I will buy a turkey breast from the deli for tonight, add stuffing, homemade cranberry relish, and maybe some kind of egg noodles with mushrooms for R. that he can take for part of lunch tomorrow. Sharyn, you reminded me I have asparagus to be used up so I will cook that too.

Ok, so I mentioned my own eggplant lasagna last week. I used to cook for 4, then 3, now one, yet I can’t get the single portions figured so I vacuum seal and freeze. Made chicken curry last week. Cubed white meat with spinach, coconut milk and some other good stuff. Then wild caught salmon with quinoa and toasted pine nuts.
I like cooking for others, not so much just for me.

Spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic cheese bread and asparagus. Last night was left over chicken Marsala with brussel sprouts. I had a coleslaw with apples and dried cranberry that was very good. I’m going to search for a recipe online.

Hot and spicy Italian sausages in tomato sauce, brown rice, brussel sprouts, cornbread muffins. I ground up an orange, peel and all, and added it to the cornbread mix along with some creamed corn. Very nice favour.

Tonight? Who knows? I haven't woken up enough to figure it out yet.

Nothing was defrosted last night so I popped in a Marie Callendar's Cheesy Chicken Lasagna in the microwave that was a 50% markdown.

Now I know why-yuck! 😝

Glad I only paid $3.50 and that was too much.

I'll be surprised tonight 'cause it's hubs' night to cook.

Luckylu- That is the first I have heard of a hot brown sandwich. Sounds good. Reminds me of a similar sandwich schlotzkeys has.(probably mispelled that).
Next month, will be near the oaklawn, (love to watch horse racing) maybe will have to stop in and try one if they have it. minus the ham and turkey, sometimes can do bacon. we'll see. Hubby would like it. Sounds really good.
I thought its no calories if we don't count them?:)

So would my Uncle smeshque,so I guess were stuck.
Another thing I sure wish I could find is a place that serves Hot Brown sandwiches.I only knew one restaurant that made 'em and they went out of business too. They were SO good....2 English muffins, open faced with shaved turkey and ham on top and then melted cheddar all over that and then topped with bacon with fries on the side you could dip into the cheese sauce. No calories there, huh~

Yeah Lu-we just got a whataburger about 4 years ago. Hubbys favorite burger place. They are very good even without the meat. But I imagine better with the meat. My taste buds enjoyed it, but my stomach will have regrets.
But hubby loves whataburger, I usually eat taco bell, when we do fast food, but thought I would have something different.
I am sorry you don't have a whataburger anymore. I am hoping they put in a Fazzolis, I enjoy them when we go to the city.
