Sorry to say, but this site has been so depressing for a few days. I thought I'd ask an average, everyday question....to make us all feel a little more normal today.
I made Eggplant Lasagna, and my BIL and SIL are coming for dinner. They leave for Cali tomorrow to see their beautiful grand daughter.
Sorry, sometimes we just need some REGULAR conversation.......or at least THIS caregiver does.
Didn't have room for the red velvet cheese cake I bought. Will take it to work to share.
Send, I went through one bad earthquake in LA area when I was living on 7th floor (so like 12th due to garage levels) of a condo building. Things were swaying all around. I jumped in the bed, pulled up the covers and waited. Of course everything was fine but it was scary for a minute there.
Becky, prime rib with horseradish sauce is a favorite food for me. Sounds heavenly.
I made tilapia fillets tonight, put them in a baking dish with some olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, seasoning. They turned out ok but too runny due to the liquids being too contained. If I make it again, I'd put it on a baking sheet, not in a casserole-type dish, that way give the liquids somewhere to run off to, keep the fish dryer.
So I learned something, which is good.
We will see. I am sure you all are sitting on the edge of your seats?
I hope the wind calms down. Good for you on the spring cleaning. You've inspired me, I might have to do a little today. The spaghetti and meatballs sounds wonderful.
It might be a liquid diet after all the BBQ.
Thanks Glad. It was really good food and I'm glad we got a chance to try it. And the cocktails were good too.:-)
Cooking italian meatballs, marinara sauce, and spaghetti.
It was the wind. Not lots of wind, but huge gusts. I had just awakened at 4:30, so I was already awake. (Who's schedule is this anyway?) But I am sure there was an earthquake somewhere, I just haven't been able to pinpoint the time at just after 4:30 a.m. in L. A. .
Went back to spring cleaning. Adding etched glass film to the sliding glass door for privacy allows the light to come in, and the glass won't shatter and fall on anyone (me).
Hope you are okay. Being nervous is understandable. Keep us posted.
Hi Glad,
I love some guac and chips. Look forward to hearing how the tamale pie turns out.
Loved the Texas BBQ. I had the brisket, pulled worked, beans, coleslaw and cornbread. I knew I had too much when I woke up with the meat sweats. I better have a salad all week to make up for it.
SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLL, Send.
14 earthquakes in the past 24 hours
64 earthquakes in the past 7 days
202 earthquakes in the past 30 days
2,696 earthquakes in the past 365 days
I am grateful the faults are releasing pressure a little at a time. But what was that a little while ago just after 4:30 a.m.? Nervous now, should I start moving furniture around, again?
I do like the Southwest flavors and chili is a great start.
I hope you were able to find something. Having acid reflux is hard.
Hi Glad,
Chili sounds so good. I've never had a tamale pie, but I will have to look for it.
Still waiting to meet up with friends for the BBQ tonight. See how it goes. The sides sound really good too. Mac and Cheese and beans and cornbread.
Those are two of my favorite Chinese dishes especially eggplant and tofu.
Tonight I'm going out with two friends for some BBQ. See how the brisket is.:-)

You're home AND you're on your way to becoming an accomplished Viking !
I had an egg salad sandwich.
Jack vs. Martha
Ad on t.v. for an omni inspired fried chicken sandwich, Jack calls it a food truck inspired sandwich and loses his nose.

Very happy to have been able to have two of my three kids over for Friday night dinner; matzah ball soup with dill and parsnips; roasted turkey breast, garlic ginger broccoli and brown and wild rice/mushroom/sundried tomato and sausage pilaf.
Had a cup of ice cream for dessert. Still have my headache. Maybe a nice cold Fanta Orange will do the trick. =)
