Hi Golden,

I couldn't agree with you more! I love seafood.

Becky, I love mac and cheese! Everything sounds so good.

Send, I'm another popcorn fan. I just got hooked on Kettle Corn!

It was ravioli again tonight. Filled with cheese and red sauce.

The secret is to pour the box of milk duds in the box of popcorn so you have the mix of sweet and salt

Sounds yummy Golden - did you have tiny red potatoes too?

Sauteed sole with salt, pepper and some lemon. Love it. Earlier today I made some garlic lime shrimp. Seafood is so easy and so good!

Dear Ali,

The turkey wings sound fabulous!

My grocery store shut down their cooking classes. I am trying to find another program to go to.

Lately I have crazy for ravioli! Trying different filling so we'll see which one is my favorite.

I've made my best tasting meal, ever, I think. I had some turkey wings in freezer, big monster things, and I thawed them and looked online for recipes. Easy enough ideas for how to prepare these, so I put together some chicken stock, Worcestershire, onion, salt & pepper, a little Cajun seasoning, minced garlic, and tossed the turkey wings in that then placed them and mixture in baking pan. After 90 minutes, they're done, and wow! The seasoning is very good, but what makes it so over-the-top delicious is how well the turkey skin and fat lends itself to being seasoned. It's so delicious. I'm going to sauté some greens to put with it but I can see this being good with rice or potatoes.

I just had strawberries and cream (with lots of sugar) for my meal break at work. I think, perhaps, this really belongs under caregivers behaving badly.

It's the most delicious fish with worms, ever. You guys can pass on all the delectable sushi bites, more for me.

Yesterday I had meatloaf from the kitchen at work. It's not a menu item but someone made some for employees. It had been a long time since I had some yummy meatloaf. It was a good plate for a cold day.

Cwillie,
The sushi is raw, the fish often has worms...not for me either.

Luckylu,
Our goal is to eat home a lot more, but I have made some awful meals, even I wouldn't eat. I can burn a t.v. dinner, even if it says marie callendars on the box.

Which is less toxic:  An aluminum pan, or a teflon pan?

If I'd felt better (terrible cold) I'd have had the hummus dip. They handmake their pita bread and they are the only place I'll eat it.

Is it Yo! Sushi or Yo Sushi! - anyway you've reminded me of when they opened a branch in our nearest shopping mall and the kids were thrilled to bits - at last! Most miserable lunch hour of my entire life, watching the conveyor belt bring plate after plate of exquisite inedible objects for them all to insist I would definitely love. Strawberry shortcake, surely they can't do anything odd to strawberry shortcake..?

Oh how wrong can you be.

I'm with you, CW. I love the language, the art, the manners, the style, the perfectionism. Ohmygod what do they DO to food????!!! Why must they make everything taste nasty?

The secret to good soup is the broth, if the base is flavourful you can float almost anything in it and it will be tasty.

As for Japanese food - everyone seems to be loading up on sushi lately but sorry, it's not for me.

Spam soup! I would think it would be tasty! I haven't made any soups yet in my life except for the canned kind.

I'm making up for years of living without good sushi by having it a few times a month. I had some Friday night and the leftovers on Saturday. Seaweed salad is a favorite, but also any kind of salmon sushi dipped in wasabi soy sauce is delicious. I like horseradish, too, and horseradish and wasabi are similar to me. They're not too much heat like a chili pepper, but just enough fast burning, up-the-nose heat and then it's gone. :-)

Never have been a big fan of tempura... isn't that weird? But then I don't like fried anything. Give me all the sashimi. What's not to love about pieces of fresh fish??   And green tea ice cream is so very good.

This thread makes my mouth water, literally.

Oh yum, MsMadge. I LOVE tempura.

So tragic that Tijuana is sorely lacking any GOOD Japanese restaurants.
(We have lots of Chinese restaurants and a large Chinese population here) but GOOD Japanese food hasn't caught on. There are "fast food" Japanese restaurants but they are horrible.

I miss Yakitori, tempura, beef teriyaki, sashimi, green tea ice cream, etc.

Sigh 😕

2 weekends in a row. I've made Spam soup for lunch and leftovers will dinner. I keep forgetting to buy onions, beans and mushrooms. So, it's a very simple soup made of Spam, can of corn and tomatoes. Last week it was so sour. Today, I made it sweet... maybe a little too sweet. I don't care for sweet-tasting soup. Sis is a plain food eater. I almost just did fried Spam only but... I like all kinds of junk in my food. I even chopped a long hot red pepper and threw it in the soup. Ate the meal with gusto, along with rice and Tabasco on the side to dip the meat in. Yum!... I have a feeling I will be having this for tomorrow, too. Sis didn't even touch much of it for lunch. .. Trying hard not to feel guilty.

Kellse,
I love Arby's Horsey sauce, a creamy, slightly sweet horseradish sauce. Great on sliced beef sandwiches.

Don't they have little baby sandwiches now on dinner rolls called sliders? (someone does). Two healthy bites in roast beef and/or turkey-$1.50 each. Good for on the go.
