Cdnreader,
You should be here in Tijuana with us tonight. We're having tacos de carnitas. Auntie makes a killer green sauce.
Of course cervezas too. Most drink Tecate Light but Auntie drinks Corona.
Corona just changed their name to "México", kinda' dumb. Everybody knows it as Corona. Oh well.
It doesn't get any more Mexican than this.
🍺 🌮 🇲🇽

Tomorrow hubs and I will have ham. 🇺🇸

Good suggestions!
It is 72 degrees F with sun out just now.
I know that I won't get fully well unless I go outside, and walk.
We have pizza from TJ's, we could have that.
Just ate tomato bisque soup-after saying I will never! eat soup from a cardboard box,
but now I like it......the recipes are great!

Going outside, because I want to get well.

.

Yes, I really am.

My plan is to make panzerotti/calzone for dinner tonight. The store was out of pizza dough so I will have to make my own - if my yeast will proof and I'm still feeling ambitious by this afternoon.
Maybe I'll do take out.

Well, it ain't Texan but Lawry's skillet chili over egg noodles is pretty simple or takeout chili and cornbread from Marie Callendars with lemon merengue pie

I may be getting takeout from Panda Express

I'd much prefer the filet mignon medallions at the Derby

Does anyone have some ideas for New Year's Eve, something simple?
I am craving real texas chili, my uncle used to make it, so did my Mom.

I had a Healthy Choice dinner and yogurt and applesauce for dessert. Yes, very unimaginative but I'm feeling lazy. Oh, and I'm drinking a Keurig decaf coffee now. I may go crazy and add some Bailey's to it. Yes, I live life on the edge. :O

I've been baking brownies for hours. It started out small-just for one family of friends but hubs keeps adding more people...and sampling the goods!
Now I've got boxes for his sister, (who's a brownie addict), our landlord, hubs' daughter and ex wife's family, a plate for the family party and, if any leftover, for us.
It sounds like I should have put this post under "my whine moment"! 😆

Dear Sue,

The stuffed pork roast sounds delicious.

The extended family is gathering on Boxing Day. As for Christmas it just might be Chinese food, but we'll see how it goes.

Veronica - flaming Christmas pudding and brandy butter. Ahhhh, memories!

Good for you, cwillie. If I wasn't going to my dd's, I would have turkey in some form and a dessert treat. Turkey soup is the best.

I am steaming a tiny christmas pudding today (the recipe is easy enough to reduce as it has 1 cup of each ingredient lol). I also picked up the smallest butterball turkey I could find when they were on sale and today I've put it in the fridge to thaw, I figure that just because I am alone I shouldn't have to do without a feast with enough leftovers for sandwiches. And turkey soup. And plenty to freeze for another day.

Not cooking anything. My contribution will be the Christmas pudding which is already made. On the day it will come to the table flaming with brandy accompanied by brandy butter. How decadent can you get?
i wonder if you can get Christmas pudding down a feeding tube. Actually no problem there because I can eat small amounts.

With 4 days til Christmas Eve and counting, who is cooking what for the big meal?
We're doing something different this year-stuffed pork roast on the barbe (so says hubby), hum...
We'll see 'bout that part. Neither one of us need it but I've been craving a pie lately 😋
We've decided we love the Christmas lights so much we'll take them off the tree and frame the front window for the year! 🎄

Oh gosh, I will probably be unpopular for this, but I eat according to my normal routine except for Christmas dinner and maybe one or two other forays into extravagance. I have found as I get older that I don't feel as well after a food binge, so I avoid them -
mostly. What tastes great at the time, doesn't sit well afterwards, When I was younger, I could "punish" myself at will, but now I like my waistbands still fitting, no acid reflux, and my stomach not feeling ballooned better than that extra helping of stuffing or that delicious looking goodie.
