Yes, you should ask your question to a doctor. We are a forum of lay people caring for LOs.

Platelets, if out of whack???? Then there is a REASON they are out of whack. You list this under cancer. Many cancers effect the platelets, and in the case of cancer's involvement and low plates--NO, nothing YOU can do will help; this requires very specialized medication and costs a whole ton of money.l

The major questions here:?:
1. Is this a CANCER THAT EFFECTS PLATELETS
or
2. Is there a TREATMENT of this cancer that is lowering plates.
The second instance is more easily addressed by the doctor.

And of course, your question needs to be addressed only by the medical practioner or teams involved with treatment.
Good luck.
Your questions re diet as in what not to eat especially is best addressed to medical team as well.
