My 93 fragile very thin female relative was admitted to the hospital from SNF…Blood clots developed de to poor blood flow…toes are infected with gangrene…amputation is not recommended…Question is there a special facility for hospice palliative care or will she be required to return to the same SNF she was in…though I’d ask this audience while I wait to speak with hospital case manager. .thank you.
A hospice home is one of the most beautiful places a person can go to die, and the care will be top notch.
But I'm guessing that the hospital will release her back to the SNF she came from for now, and once under hospice care her family can choose to have her transferred to her local hospice home when she's close to dying.
