Helping my Dad on the walker

Find Care & Housing
Whatever walker he has, you may want to ask his doctor for an order to have in home come out and make sure its adjusted correctly and he is trained in how to use it.

Many times its adjusted too low. One reason they slouch. Also, with the reg ones people tend to push it another reason they are bent over. You push a walker a few inches and then you walk into it. If adjusted properly, the person should be standing as straight as they can. Canes are used wrong too.

When my dad got his rollator walker the medical supply company employee gave him a mini class in how to use it and not use it. We found out that most often they are adjusted too low, that’s why you see the stooped over look that’s unhealthy when a person doesn’t have the right height adjustment.
