Thank you.

Yes he wants the main house and 34 of the farms 40 acres put in his name.

i meant to say the old farm was sold this February now they live on the new farm with 2 houses in my name. I have a small house in a town 8 miles away and I plan to sell it and move into the small house next to theirs.

but he has been becoming mean with me and demanding I return it all to his name. He was fine with a living will for 6 years on the old farm in my name.

all I can figure out is he is getting dementia.

I’m assuming you mean dad wants the house he’s living in put in his name, whereas it’s currently in your name. The farm as I understand it was sold with the money from it going to buy the two houses. This can be solved by having a lawyer put the house he lives in into his name on the deed with a life estate deed. This means the minute he dies the life estate deed transfers ownership to the person named on the deed, in his case, that would be you. This is likely what your parent’s previously did on the farm property. My dad did this with his house. When he died I immediately owned the house and was able to sell it without going through probate. If the farm isn’t sold, and I’m misinterpreting your post, let your parents know firmly, your help is entirely dependent on them cooperating with the farm being sold. It would also be wise to get your parents used to help that isn’t you, doesn’t matter if they like it or not. You need to preserve your own health. Use their funds to hire help. I wish you peace
