My Mom has had Medicaid for the past 2.5 years. We recently renewed and were approved in June 2025. It was recently brought to my attention that Medicaid made a mistake and did not include her spend down information (Lifetrust). My eldercare lawyer addressed this with Medicaid and now they are saying that they need to review the entire case with Medical records etc.. assessment, the whole application process again. We were already approved. Now I’m at risk of losing coverage because of their mistake. Any advice? Thank you.

Find Care & Housing
I have to send in 12 months of statements for my nephews Special needs trust. Was this done for your Mom? The renewal form asks for proof of any trusts. Is it just that you did not supply 12 months of bank statements? One year I sent Jan and Dec since no money was with drawn. The caseworker called me and said I needed to provide the other ten months and I did.

Hi,
Yes, I do mean her. I’m the one taking care of everything for her so I said I.
I fought with Medicaid for 2 years to get more hours and with agencies to get the proper caregivers. It’s finally all in place, the right amount of hours and good caregivers (only since last month). Now I have to start all over again because Medicaid made a mistake.
Sorry, just venting from being overwhelmed, frustrated and very concerned about my Mother.
Thanks for your response.

No, I have no advice. Provide the information they ask for and hope for the best. You say "Nwo I'm at risk of losing coverage", and that confuses me. Do you not mean SHE is at risk of losing coverage? You have an elder law attorney so you are going the best route you are able in all of this.
