My mother passed Aug 9. And you all know the drama that has been this summer and dealing with her care.DH and I began clean out of her house. We’ve had two days where friends came and helped. Real progress has been made. Other than the horrible Texas heat and the house only having one window unit, the emptying really has been the easy part.
Meeting my trusted local lawyer Friday to start estate process. He helped me handle my dad’s, and is a nice guy.
Now the kicker… my son 24, lives at home, has low support needs autism and works a minimal temp tech job for local school district….. got hit HARD with COVID yesterday. I got up and he said he’d awakened at 4 am with 102 fever, and had taken Tylenol. And was feeling a bit better and was going to try and go to work.I said no, not a good idea. Because when the Tylenol wore off he was gonna feel like garbage. And that’s what happened. He got sicker for the next several hours till we made it to his urgent care appt. I could hear him vomiting from the waiting room until they called me back. He got an IV, an anti nausea shot, and more fever reducing meds than I’ve ever seen a person take at once.
The NP said she’s not been seeing people this sick with Covid.Today he was 102 earlier, had a round of barfing, took the suppository phenergan finally. Zofran is incompatible with his anti depressant. This evening he’s around 100, and getting some fluids on board while the nausea med is working at least. He’s not been this sick in years. And now we wait to see if the rest of us get it. My daughter is supposed to go back to college 3.5 hrs drive away on Thursday.
The timing is a bummer. Can you mask up around him while he tests positive? Hopefully you and the rest of the family won’t get it! 🤞
