Find Care & Housing
jerrigirl, welcome to the forum. There are a couple possible ways of getting paid. One is for your Mom to pay you. If she can, then you would need to create an employment contract www.agingcare.com/articles/personal-care-agreements-compensate-family-caregivers-181562.htm and in this article is a copy of a contract.

Another way of possibly being paid is if your Mom can qualify for Medicaid (which is different from Medicare). Medicaid is State run, and is paid by the taxpayers. Call your local Medicaid office. But note, the pay might be minimum wage with a limited number of hours each week. Hope you find something that works out for you.
