How did she end up in that facility?

Also, nursing homes are not gulags. They don't keep well people there against their will. Your Mom is probably there for her own safety, health and protection.

More information for context would be helpful.

You signed up to an international forum of caregivers to elderly loved ones here at Agingcare. We're just regular people like you who cannot help you with that, you're right.

Who do people think we are here at Agingcare????

OK, I won't bother. If you don't want our advice, please don't waste our time. We try to be helpful, but our advice is not always appreciated. We do the best we can to give advice based on our caregiving experiences. Take it or leave it.

You are clearly upset and projecting your grief into anger at this forum. When you are less emotional please ask any questions that you need.

I have found this forum to be very forgiving and welcoming when a situation like this occurs.

Why would you contact a lawyer? It's not like she went to jail.

Who placed her there? Was it her POA? What are her health problems? Dementia?

We really need more information. Does she have any type of Dementia? What are her heath problems and age? Who placed her, POA? Nursing facilities do not except well people. If on Medicaid, they must fit the criteria.
