Explain "block". Everyone's situation is unique and common is subjective when no details are given.

This gentleman, if of sound mind, should be seeing his children and grandchildren REGARDLESS of what his wife prefers.

Does husband have Dementia?

If you asking what you can do, really nothing. You can consult with lawyer and see if you have any rights. What does the Sister say?

Are you one of his children or grandchildren?

Honestly, your question isn't very "answerable" because how would we know how widespread this issue is... I've been on this forum daily since 2019 and yes, this type of question about this type of dynamic definitely has been posted before, but for various reasons: the step-mom has a mental illness; the step-mom is having dementia and paranoia; the step-mom is a golddigger; the step-mom never got along with his family or visa versa; ad nauseum.

Aren't you interested in WHY it is happening? Shouldn't that be your question to this forum? Are you worried he is being isolated due to some sort of financial or other abuse? Isolating from his family could mean she is fed up with being criticized by those people for how she is managing things, or other reasons.

Blended families later in life are tricky. Even ones that were blended early on can show signs of cracking once inheritance concerns enter the picture (if that is what's going on here).

You filled out your profile but not with anything that gives context to answer your question. Please provide more info, like who you are in relationship to the people mentioned in your question, the general dynamics of the blended family relationship with the step-mother, and why you think the isolation is happening.
