I was going to post re the new format but cannot find a "Discussion" option so will post it here. Regarding the new format, several things come to mind: We have been bitching about an edit function for a long while. We have one now. What was last is now first. This responds to the many (and probably increasing numbers) who use their cell phones to access AC and had to scroll through many pages to get to the most recent posts. This is a commercial site. Like it or not it takes money to keep a website running and most of us have benefitted greatly from this site. The owners have to do what they have to do to keep it running. You may not like all of it, but you can respect what they do that does work for you and their ongoing efforts to keep this site running. Personally, I would like the comment box at the top of the comments and the font size the same on every page, but whatever. Things change. That’s life. It happens all the time. One of the hallmarks of successful aging is flexibility - being able to roll with the punches and adapt to changes. Another one is keeping your mind active. So why not use this opportunity to exercise your brain in learning something new. This is my opinion only. Like a**holes, everybody has one.
I think some of the people having problems are running older operating systems that aren't compatible with the new format. I can imagine there are a lot of users out there who haven't upgraded since windows xp or vista
I am using the updated Win 10.1 and Google chrome as a browser but I expect other are using older systems.
I guess I have had the (questionable) benefit of being given the job at the college of producing a course in a format suited to online teaching, and uploading if for use by students. We were given 6 weeks and no instruction of how to do it. Yes, there was a resource person, but I didn't even know what questions to ask to begin with, and my field is science, not information tech. But we can learn and i quite enjoyed it after the first moments of panic.
Nope, that didn't work. An old entry from a thread does not work like a bookmark. It took me to the newest post. 😧
I have found using FireFox works better for me, that way I can expand the "comment" box to as large as I want :)
My response to the OP...below me you see a response to Pam...BUT..you have no idea what Pam wrote...and you might have to try to scroll through pages to find it...meanwhile..you will see responses that others wrote to other writers...again with no idea what the other person wrote...or how far you will have to scroll down to find it,
Simple chaos
I know, one has to click on "see all answers" since the thread was only showing the most popular answers. And any time an Expert Writer, like Carol, posts, it automatically goes to the top of the thread. New readers are going to think their "answer" didn't post, and eventually give up.
As I'm reading your obviously gungho mentality about changes etc., don't be so assuming.
How do you really know how many of us have old systems, and yes that I'm sure is why I'm
having problems.

As for knowing about problems with older operating systems, it has come up on another thread. Yes, I spend a LOT of time here.
In the case you mentioned, pamsteg's post on Win 7, it is immediately below ff's who answered her. Maybe I have missed your point.
