My 80 year old mom is at home with my father taking care of her along with visiting aides 2x a day. My mom has Parkinson’s and dementia and is for the most part home bound. When my mom was younger she was a personal trainer and very active! Now she just sits in her recliner and she is very bored but there’s not much she can do aside from the AIDS and my father and me doing what we can. Are there any other options out there for someone like her?
They provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack, and will even pick up your mom and drop her back off if needed.
Of course there is a cost, but it's worth every penny. See what's available in your area.
There are activities and some will take participants on outings (as long as it is safe for them to do so)
Most will pick up in the morning transport to the program provide a breakfast a snack and a lunch and transport back home in the later part of the afternoon,
It gives the caregiver a break as well as the participant.
When you mention "other options," what do you mean? Are you seeking activities for your mom, another type of care, other living situations, a different kind of treatment, or something else?
