Hubby has Parkinsons and is deeply chagrined every time the bed gets wet. It bothers him much more than me. Every adult diaper we've tried leaks. We haven't tried a condom catheter yet, but the reviews we've read on those products aren't promising. Any suggestions would be most welcome!
From my observations and trial and error, I can give some ideas to try:
I cut the tabs and excess paper off of a diaper and use the absorbent part as an insert, inside a tabbed diaper. That is fairly effective.
Try and get the diaper pulled up all the way on his legs before fastening, and fasten the tabs to get a tight fit at the waist.
Use disposable pads - always. There will be leaks. The disposable pads just offer a layer of protection between the person and the bedding (or seating) and is convenient to replace.
Change the diapers frequently, before it gets wet enough to saturate and leak.
Hold off on liquids before bedtime, to reduce overnight wetness.
I do not get up in the middle of the night to change a diaper on a sleeping patient. So, the mornings are when I can expect the most wetness. Don't be afraid to double up on the underpads. I use two disposable on top of one 30"x 36" quilted cloth underpad.
I'm considering cutting the bottom couple of inches off my husband's T-shirts in the back, because I can't seem to control the liquid wicking up his shirts. Aarrgghh!

Or you may have to just get your husband up to use the bathroom every 4 hours or so overnight so he doesn't end up as wet.
Incontinence sucks. My late husband whose incontinence was off the charts, ended up having a supra pubic catheter placed which helped a lot, and allowed us both to be able to sleep the night without having to worry about him being soaked in the morning.
I wish you well in getting this issue resolved best you can.
