How to Get a Copy of a Medicaid Award Letter
Option 1: Contact Your Local Medicaid Office
Best choice if you need help right away or aren’t sure who handles your Medicaid.
You can find the office by searching “[State] Medicaid office” or visiting:

Ask specifically for a copy of the Medicaid Notice of Action or award/approval letter.
Option 2: Access Your
State’s Medicaid Online Portal
Many states offer online accounts where you can:
- View and download award letters
- Check your coverage
- Update your information

You will need to:
1. Go to your state’s Medicaid website
2. Log in or create an account
3. Look for a section like “Notices,” “Correspondence,” or “Benefits”
Option 3: Call Medicaid Customer Service
The number varies by state, but you can typically call the number on the back of your Medicaid card.
Ask the representative to mail or email a copy of your most recent Medicaid eligibility or award letter.

For Medicaid Long Term Care? As long as it is for you or the person you are POA Nursing Home business office will have a copy. They forwarded me the letter when they received approval and Medicaid also sent me the award letter (New York state).
