If someone reported you to APS for elder abuse, you will be investigated and either cleared or prosecuted. Its not a "tit for tat" kind of thing where now you report this person. Once your case is cleared, thats your proof of innocence.

You don't give much information but if it involves an elder with dementia, such a person could confabulate abuse by you. This is unfortunately a very common dementia behavior. My very elderly Aunt with dementia used to roll down the car passenger window and yell "Help!" as if I was kidnapping her.

If was an APS thing, they can't tell you who put the complaint in. To be honest, if a person feels there is abuse they have a right to complain and not be prosecuted for it. Like Lea said, if your found innocent the case will be closed. Now if this person continues to complain and there is nothing found, this is harassment and you may be able to get a retraining order.

A “claim” is a civil case seeking payment of damages. This is not likely to have caused you any financial loss, so you will have trouble making a “claim”. And I doubt if you will convince the state to prosecute. Forget it!
