She paces and paces around me. It makes me very uneasy and I drop things. Then she's mad I am dropping things. I had two 'experts' say I should let her do whatever she wants. I almost fell because she was pacing around me like a shark. Standing over my shoulder. She walks on top of people. She almost got hit by a car because she ran in front of it because she wanted to tell the neighbor her a/c was too loud. I hired a nurse when I went on vacation. The neighbor came over and yelled at me. Apparently I am wrong for telling her she can't do that because it can cause an accident.
The 36 Hour Day is a good book to learn about dementia and so is Understanding the Dementia Experience by Jennifer Ghent-Fuller, both available on Amazon. Teepa Snow has some good videos to watch on YouTube about how to deal with dementia behaviors, but the bottom line is, when the loved one is out of control with calming meds, it's time for placement and a geriatric psychiatrist evaluation to determine proper treatment moving forward.
Good luck to you.
