My mom had a bad stroke last year and to keep her out of a care facility I took some time off work. I’ve exhausted my savings and gonna have to return to work. But had people tell me their are programs to be paid for caregiving a parent I can’t fathom having to put her in a care facility she’s taken amazing care of me my whole life it’s the least I can do so please if anyone has any info or the steps to take please and thank you and if needed I’m also in southern Illinois I know it’s different from state to state . Thank you again.

Find Care & Housing
Look into the Illinois Community Care Program(CCP) through the Department on Aging. Call their Senior HelpLine or your local Area Agency on Aging to start the application. They can see if your mom qualifies for in-home services, where you could potentially be hired as the Personal Assistant.
