Find Care & Housing
Look for a service in your area such as care.com that provides caregivers. I doubt you can hire only one person for a week, more likely a couple or three caregivers as each will need time off for breaks. Alternatively, you can use respite care services at a local nursing home or sometimes assisted living and have dad go there for the week

You may have great difficulty setting this up on short notice. You may not make that work trip.

That's pretty short notice but if you call local, reputable care agencies they may be able to set it up but this is a scheduling issue and they have to interview you/your Dad and find the appropriate match. It's also a liability thing for caregiving businesses. Where I live it is $46 p/hr for non-medical care.

Care.com may be your best option. Does your Dad have cognitive impairment? If so, this may cause him to have a hard time suddenly adjusting to a stranger. Be prepared to not travel next week. You will need to start having a relationship with a person or agency if you will be traveling more. Paid caregivers are not "on call".
