There are a few of us in the UK. Apparently 'Countrymouse' is the UK expert. It's very good for general advice and emotional support - not so much for legal/ practical problems, though, as their systems are so different to ours. Please join though!

Although this site is American we've had people from all over the world that ask for (and give) advice.

I live in UK and find the site very useful. It would be good if we had a legal/social services advisory service here though.

Hillary, legal advice is not given here. Just imagine the liability to have someone that is familiar with laws and their differences even in just the 50 states. Add world wide, impossible.

in the states, There are legal sites like avvo.com that work better for that purpose. You can post legal questions to attorneys, but even then you will be advised to contact an attorney in your state.

There must be something similar in the UK.
