I’m so sorry for your loss. You’re numb right now. It’s too soon to have grieved, too soon to come to terms with the stunning finality of it. Over the next days, weeks and months you’ll begin to process the loss while also remembering all that was good about your mum and her life. Be kind to yourself - she’d want that for you. I wish you peace and comfort as you mourn your beloved mum.

Thank you.
You put it so beautifully: the stunning finality. I am actively trying to remember all the good, and how Mum was before the awful stroke that changed her so profoundly. You've given me hope that I will do so. :)

I'm glad to hear that your mums passing was peaceful. It sounds like you're still in a bit of a shock thus why your feelings are all over the place.
Allow yourself time now to grieve your mum however you see fit. And more importantly take this time to be good to yourself. Your mum would want that for you.
God bless you.

I think you could be right, Funky. Although I knew it was imminent, it still felt too soon to say goodbye. So, it shouldn't have been, but it was a bit of a shock. I'll try and follow your advice :)

I'm so sorry for this painful loss. You did the best you could so please don't allow yourself to engage in second-guessing and regrets. Your Mom wouldn't want you to do this (I'm saying this as a Mom myself). May you be comforted by loving memories and receive a transcendent peace in your heart as you grieve over time.
