My wife had a mini-stroke 17 months ago and has recovered with minimual complications. I started out as a caregiver and now just dealing as a spouse. Lately, I am strugling with doing and saying the right things, which has caused friction between us.

I am pleased to hear your Wife has mostly recovered. Even so, there has been great change. To her, physically & mentally. Also to you, being spouse then caregiver now spouse again. It's a lot of change for you both in 18 months.

"I am strugling with doing and saying the right things"

To clarify, do you mean YOU are a struggling to say what you want? Finding it harder to control your mood. Maybe tense, frustrated, short-tempered. Maybe feeling low or not enjoying life as you were?

Or that whatever you say or do isn't 'right' for your Wife. That she may be frustrated, more emotional, short-tempered or angry?

Or a combination of both?

My LO is a stroke survivor. M can get obsessive about things. This can be mildly wearying or downright blood pressure raising depending on how long it goes for.
