I temporarily could not log into my this website this afternoon. I closed my Safari browser and when it reopened it said that this website was part of a data breach incident (and to change my password).
Wait. I didn’t see the message about the data breach, but I tried changing my password today to see if could login with a new one. AgingCare didn’t send me a reset request in my email. Nothing! So, I couldn’t change my password.
Then poof, like magic the site let me back in. Before I was out for several days. It’s been happening with my account. It’s very strange and frustrating.
cwille said that she has been posting for a decade and will go through withdrawals if she can’t post! LOL 😆
Sadly, I think a few people will be leaving AgingCare forum. I have received emails from people saying that they might not be posting. So, if I want to contact them I can email them.
I wonder if locking us out was done on purpose, so that we send an email and in a sense in that way, identify ourselves through our email. I hope our privacy is protected.
I’m thinking about deleting my account. The whole thing is just weird.
Plus, some of the strange posters. I totally feel like there are posters that have been posting under multiple names.
Honestly, I think some of these posters have mental illness. I have received many strange messages from a few posters.
Are they trolls? Who knows? Who really cares? All I know is that we either have to look at their posts as free entertainment or see them as bizarre!
Most of the strange post were private. Some I deleted when we were able to delete. Why is that feature disabled? No one can delete a private message.
I have a lot of questions about what really goes on with this site. As far as I can tell when comments are reported not much happens. The same people keep coming back with their bizarre comments.
For me, this is not the first time I could not get on. Administration maybe doing some maintenance and had to shut down.
I do think there are problems that need to be addressed. I think there are some wacky things going on. The only way they can be addressed is to report them but when we do being able to say why we r reporting.
I like your idea to be able to list the reasons why we are reporting a poster.
Especially now since some people don’t like not being able to delete annoying posts in their private messages.
I’m like Alva, I don’t really care if they are there because I simply ignore any ridiculous messages that I have received, like the woman who asked me to crash a funeral in my area.
What made it even crazier is when she said that she suspected that the deceased was murdered. Uh, no I am not crashing a funeral! LOL 😆
We need a block feature. I don’t have a problem ignoring other posters who are obnoxious. Still, it would be nice to be able to block them.
I am not the only person that has gone through this. Other posters have told me that they have also received many messages from the same obnoxious posters.
It is nice to have private messaging on AgingCare.
Many posters desire to discuss their concerns in depth and wouldn’t necessarily want to share every detail about their situation with the entire forum. Or they simply want to share a pleasant conversation about something non caregiver related.
There will always be differences in opinions and personalities, so it’s nice to be able to connect with people who we feel comfortable sharing information with or someone who has had similar experiences.
I am never going to be a carbon copy of anyone else and I certainly don’t want anyone to be a carbon copy of me. That would be incredibly boring!
I truly understand why some people choose not to receive private messages anymore due to certain posters bombarding them with nonsense.
Remember Salutem? What a nutcase! Spewing her profanities and crazy thoughts in everyone’s private messages.
There are advantages and drawbacks to participating in any online forms of communication.

oh, just saw the other comments. I also had problems. Would not accept my log in and I had to reset my password!
Admins, you can delete this now :)
Me too.
Along with Glad. cwille and Golden.
Join the club of outcasts! LOL 😆

I am beginning to like your idea of starting a new forum more and more! 😊
Seems OK now……
I did try to set a new password and the site didn’t send a request to me. Then all of a sudden I was able to login.
We are living in the twilight zone!
It is weird and is happening more frequently.
Someone took out a loan in my name so I froze everything with all three credit bureaus.

Okay, I may be fading away again! LOL 😆 Site just kicked me off for a second.
I do find that the site signs us out more frequently now.
