Find Care & Housing
Ok...I'm confused. Why would you need to talk to "the Doctor" about "someone else handling your money?"
Or are you talking about the fact that you now have a financial POA in effect that will be taking care of your bills and overall finances? If that's the case, the "doctor" would only need a copy of your medical POA, not your financial POA as they would only need to know if you've designated someone to speak and decide on your behalf for your medical care and decisions...so I'm still confused.
Perhaps you can clarify so we can better help you.

You talk to a certified elder law attorney about designating a financial PoA. Your doctor/clinic only needs a copy of the Medical PoA documents, after you've assigned someone.

You can talk to your primary doctor about creating an Advance Healthcare Directive so that you retain control of your care even when you can't physically or cognitively do so. You give this directive to your MPoA and file it with any doctors and clinic you use. Your MPoA would need to bring their copy it to any hospital, ER or facility.

If you are referring to activating a Power of Attorney document, the person who will have your POA may need a statement from your doctor that you no longer can manage your own finances. The POA document will say what it needs from a doctor or doctors.
